She runs across a mysterious murder, and an odd encounter with a stranger| all this occurs even before she sets foot on a luxury liner wi...。故事发生在解放前的上海。锁匠老林（郭凯敏 饰）与杂志社记者阿福（卢青 饰）及司机小三（王卫 饰）发起的赈灾募捐未获人们响应，到是对面的选美大赛人头攒动，热闹非凡。老林他们决意盗取大通银行吴经理（黄达亮 饰）挪用赈灾款为其干女儿陈莎（陈虹 饰）购买的生日礼物滴血钻石，用以救济苏北灾民。不料，深夜盗宝发现陈莎被人杀死在床上，由于凶手拿错了包，钻石虽然到手，却成了烫手的山芋，无法脱手折现。几人只好暗中查访，阔少刘小开（肖荣生 饰）称孙二少爷是凶手。阿福假扮孕妇混入诊所探听到，那日在陈莎寓所发现的便条出自吴经理之手，次日，诊所李医师被人灭囗......。
