崔元（李栋旭 饰）是太医院的医官，因被人诬陷毒杀仁宗（任瑟雍 饰）皇帝成为逃亡者。女儿崔琅（金幼彬 饰）患了不治之症，崔元万分揪心，他决心无论采用什么办法也要救活她的命。崔元在火中救出仁宗，仁宗说有良方能救崔琅，条件是崔元要日夜守护在自己身边，崔元深感不妥，拒绝了他的要求。他为送还《金怪妇用方》医典，进入金书库，搭救了被人追赶的医女，不料第二天，与崔元有总角之交的闵道生（崔弼立 饰）被人发现死在金书库，崔元被他人嫁祸杀人罪名。崔元在殿前大声喊冤，求仁宗留自己一条活命。崔元心知肚明，自己若死了，身患绝症的女儿必死无疑......。Killian is a young man who has never left the remote mountains of Huesca (Spain) which saw him grow up.
