刚刚结束的第75届威尼斯电影节(2018)地平线单元开幕片，真实事件改编，电影主人公的原型是意大利青年StefanoCucchi，2009年10月15日，他因携带毒品被警方逮捕，但是在被捕后短短六天的时间里，他的健康状况急剧恶化，并于当月22日死于监狱中。StefanoCucchi的死因至今是个谜，而他的家人仍然没有放弃寻找真相......。John Ellman (Boris Karloff) has been framed for murder by a gang of racketeers. He is unfairly tried and despite the fact that his innocence has been proven, he is sent to the electric chair and executed. Dr. Evan Beaumont (Edmund Gwenn) retrieves his dead body and revives it, as part of his experiments to reanimate a dead body and discover what happens to the soul after death....。
