白月初受邀到涂山观赏了一出精心编排的戏剧，但在观影时，却有敌人神不知鬼不觉地潜入，并且在戏剧中增加了部分内容。从戏剧中得知，白月初是五百年前道盟盟主东方月初的转世，而涂山苏苏则是当年妖盟盟主涂山红红失去妖力和记忆变成的小姑娘。他们二人当年为了人与妖两界的和平倾尽全力，却被宿敌陷害，被迫在苦情树下进行生死决斗。他们二人原本在树下许下誓言来世再见，但好不容易见面后，当年的宿敌“黑狐”却如影随形地跟了过来，未竟的战斗还在继续。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents? Jean-Marie, his fiancée Micheline and his cousin Edwige investigate and finally succeed in exposing the culprit.
