该剧根据司马迁的《史记》、班固的《汉书》改编，讲述了汉景帝平定七国之乱，削藩并加强中央集权。治国沿用了黄老的无为而治，然而刚刚稳定的西汉在面对强大的匈奴入侵时忍辱负重，通过和亲来维持边境安全。景帝去世后，年少的刘彻在其母后的帮助下被推上皇位。登基后，广开言路，寻觅贤臣，实行改革。在文景之治奠定的基础下，不断拓展西汉的基业，并在皇后卫子夫之弟卫青的辅佐下将匈奴赶出中原。在刘彻的铁腕统治下，西汉达到了一个前所未有的盛世。。Despite her fame and fortune, Mina, a successful Indian actress in Mumbai, can't forget her little sister Sita, from whom she was forced to separate after their mother's death in a village.
