本片讲述了迷失在时间里的现代巴西。受经济危机影响，北方农村的原住民黑人克里斯托旺供职的牛奶厂地方分厂倒闭，他不得不离乡背井，来到奶厂总部的所在地谋生。这是一个有着奥地利殖民气息的奇怪小镇，面对排外保守的当地人，克里斯托旺感到孤立无援，与白人世界隔绝。直到某天，他发现了一幢废弃的房子，里面摆满了与他的出身相关的物品和纪念品。他在这座房子里安顿下来，重新与自己的根联结。然后这个记忆之屋仿佛活了过来，更多的物品开始出现。慢慢地，克里斯托旺开始发生了蜕变。。The Future of Work and Death is a documentary concerning the growth of exponential technology and where it is taking us.
