美国一个小镇宾州，大部分镇民是在一家汽车零件装配工厂上班，整个镇的繁荣富裕维系于此。然而经济不景气，使得该工厂就要关门大吉。史帝文生是这家工厂的员工，为了自己、为了全镇，他跳出来去游说一家日本的汽车公司，买下工厂，好保留大家的饭碗。 俗语说：「杀头生意有人做，赔本生意可是没人干。」日本人接掌美国工厂，当然希望赚得足够的利润。而关键不仅在于日本人的先进技术移入，也在于美国员工全力以赴，使生产线更有效率。当日本的管理阶层，遇上美国的劳工阶层会是怎样的文化冲突局面？。Sixty Glorious Years is an exercise in the creation of iconography, both for Victoria and its star, Anna Neagle (who subsequently became known as 'Regal Neagle').
